Jody Peters is a local artist from Whitby, Ontario. After graduating from the University of Toronto in 1993 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree, Jody has been active in the Arts Community. Jody majored in Fine Arts Studio with studies in Drawing, Painting, Sculpture, Photography and Print Making and specializes in colour pencil.

While studying, various artists had influenced Jody's works, most notably Rene Magritte and Salvador Dali who are two of the fathers of modern art from the 1930s. The play on reality of these artists' paintings influences her drawings' subject matter.  Please check out Jody's original works entitled "The Eclipse" and "As Time Goes By" for a couple of examples of these influences.

Jody, as well, loves to draw with pencil and graphite.  Her love of detail displays an almost surrealistic feel once again.  In her drawing entitled "Reflections", there is a blend of detail and a slight surrealistic feel.  The original drawing entitled "Lion Pruning"  is another example.

Jody uses many different mediums in her works. Along with colour pencil and graphite, Jody uses chalk pastel, oil pastel, acrylic, oil paint and glass etching. One of Jody's more recent commission pieces include combining a few photos into a single picture.
